Kids and Creativity in School

While I understand Ken Robinson's point about the fact that schools do not dedicate enough time and resources to creative classes such as dance and art, I still do not believe that schools are stifling children out of their creativity. Robinson says that schools focus too much on the fact that there is a right and wrong answer. Students must learn, however, that in the workforce there are rules to be followed and if they are broken (if the wrong answer is chosen) then there will be consequences for people's actions. I think that the real problem in schools is that teachers become tired and bored with the same routine lessons that they do every year. Instructors depend too much on worksheets and rote memorization. Teachers need to come up with more interactive activities for their students to partake in and then the lessons will become embedded in the students, while having the opportunity to use their creativity!
